ALift Refurbishment or Lift Modernisation solutions are recommended by lift consultants and the lift and escalator association after 15 years. Whilst deciding if a lift upgrade is a good idea for you, we can assist to assess the lift on site. We consider the building type, usage, age of lift, quality, availability of parts and client budget.
What is a lift refurbishment then?
Typically, a lift refurbishment or lift modernisation as we call it in our industry is a replacement of the lift control system, lift door operator, and lift hydraulics.
What type of lifts are these suitable for?
Most passenger lifts and good lifts are suitable for a lift control system upgrade, change of lift hydraulics and a new door operator.
What else is involved in these upgrades?
We always do the car controls, landing controls, landing indication, car top controls, shaft positioning, door safety edges, shaft lighting, and all associated wiring to ensure a complete and thorough job.
What is the normal delivery time?
We can normally start work in around 4 weeks which is significantly quicker than a replacement lift at 16 weeks.
How long does the work take on site?
A full passenger lift upgrade takes 7 to 10 working days.
Does it affect my building operation?
Not really no, we only need access to the lift shaft and motor room normally.
How much does it cost? A passenger lift refurbishment would cost anywhere between £25,000 and £35,000.
