Preventative lift maintenance is a game changer for any lift. Our engineers Neil and Steve visited Walker’s Nonsuch Toffee in Stoke, who were experiencing issues with their lift.
In late 19th century England, Edward Joseph Walker began making toffee in a small sweet shop located in Longton, Stoke-On-Trent. His slab toffee which was made with a special hammer, was a big hit, with local people regularly coming in the shop to buy some.
Using only the best ingredients, Joseph created a unique toffee recipe, which Walkers still use today.
The Issue?
Walkers were in a sticky situation with their lifts before coming to us. They experienced regular performance issues and breakdowns.
The reason for their lift not being reliable was down to inconsistent and rushed maintenance visits.
Rushed maintenance visits are a big issue in the industry, it is not done on purpose but often engineers are overloaded with work and some jobs may take longer than others.
The main reason for this being the fact that there is lots of lifts and not many lift companies, meaning lift engineers often get very busy.
The Solution?
Eventually, Walkers made the decision to switch to us as their lift supplier. The first thing we did was set out a good maintenance schedule. We also gave them recommendations, which they agreed to.
A good maintenance schedule with the right company can go a long way in the life of your lift. Regular maintenance ensures all issues are addressed and ensures your lift is always running smoothly.
Thanks to our preventative maintenance visits, Walker’s toffee now have lifts that run excellently.
What Is Preventative Lift Maintenance
Preventative lift maintenance (sometimes known as traditional lift maintenance) is where our engineers will spend more time on site. This ensures they spot any and all issues, no matter how big they are.
This method of work ensures that all problems are fixed before they escalate. Because of this, the lift performs a lot better with preventative lift maintenance, as well as the likelihood of a lift breakdown being significantly lower.
