We have recently acquired a contract for a Stoke-based care home. This contract was for two lifts they have in their building, both in desperate need of work. Luckily, our team came up with the perfect solution. This solution fit the clients needs and budget and were more than happy to invest.
The first passenger lift on site will receive a complete lift upgrade. This upgrade includes a complete overhaul to the lifts parts which will make the lift run smoothly and safely. As part of the upgrade, the lift control system will be replaced, to a better and more efficient control system. As well as this, the busmatic car doors and hydraulics will be changed and the lift will get a lovely upgraded interior.
Our plan of action is to complete all of this work within a 6-week time frame. This time frame is from initial contact to the finished product. As we do lift modernisations projects all the time, our team collectively agreed this is an excellent solution for the primary lift.
Our Plan For The Second Lift
As the secondary lift, it should have not been in operation due to not meeting regulations. This is mainly down to the lifts age. For this reason, we isolated the lift safely, but of course this was only a short term solution. The main solution? we will be removing and replacing the lift with a brand new platform lift, which will serve as a backup for site-wide disabled access.
Normally we would never recommend a platform lift being the only lift in a care home. This is due to high usage, but as a secondary lift, they are a great space-saver and backup lift for disabled use.
It is also worth mentioning that we did ALL of this work for a third of the cost they were quoter from their current supplier.
Platform lifts are a great disabled access solution and as a backup lift they are excellent products. Get in touch if you are interested in platform lift installation.
