Our engineer, Jay embarked on the National Three Peaks for Dougie Mac. He was joined by his two friends, who also did the National Three Peaks. They managed to raise over £1100 for the charity and did all three peaks in under 24 hours (22 hours and 20 minutes).
The National Three Peaks involved climbing britians highest moutains, these being Ben Nevis (In Scotland), Snowdon (In Wales) and Scafell Pike (In England). In total, the walking distance is roughly 23 miles with 3,064 metres of ascent.
The National Three Peaks Challenge is a great opportunity to raise money for charity or as a personal endurance test. The charity Jay decided to raise money for is Dougie Mac.
Douglas Macmillan Hospice (known as Dougie Mac) is a Stoke-based charity that supports children, young adults, and adults. They provide free-of-charge, comprehensive care to those with life-limiting illnesses at their two sites and in the local community. As well as this, they provide support for patients’ families and their carers.
Our Sponsorship With Dougie Mac
We actually sponsor dougie mac. They are local to us and we support what they do. In addition to this, we also look after their lifts
Last time we visited them, we not only provided them with one of our nationwide teddy beats, turns out they also have their own teddies, so we got one. Now the Dougie Mac and Nationwide teddy bears are good friends.

We will continue to support Dougie Mac and their charity.
